Great Gatsby Party Band
One of the most popular event themes in recent years is the Great Gatsby Party, and it’s easy to see why. Guests love stepping back into the glamour of the 1920s—arriving in sparkling flapper dresses, spats, zoot suits, straw fedoras, handlebar mustaches, and even vintage swimwear.
The Texas Gypsies deliver the authentic sound and look of the 1920s Gatsby era, offering everything from an intimate jazz trio for a speakeasy-style gathering to a full 12-piece big band for large, high-energy celebrations. Upon request, the band can also perform pop and dance favorites from the 1950s through today. To elevate the experience even further, professional swing dancers and dance instructors are available to teach your guests how to swing dance. Authentic period costumes paired with classic 1920s jazz and swing create a truly immersive evening of dancing and entertainment—perfect for a Gatsby-themed event. Many productions enhance the atmosphere with vintage automobiles, speakeasy-style bars, silent films, and Art Deco décor, transforming the space into a scene reminiscent of a Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers film.
The Texas Gypsies have performed their high-energy 1920s show for countless vintage-themed events, including Great Gatsby, Roaring ’20s, Speakeasy, Prohibition, Boardwalk Empire, and combined 1920s–1940s WWII Big Band themes featuring classic crooner music. The Perfect 1920's Gatsby Party Band
he Texas Gypsies are the perfect choice for a Gatsby-themed event, performing many of the most beloved songs of the 1920s, including “The Charleston,” “Ain’t She Sweet,” “Whispering,” “Five Foot Two,” and more. For the most authentic Roaring Twenties sound, the band features a full horn section and can perform in configurations ranging from a 6-piece ensemble to a 14-piece big band, with arrangements written to faithfully capture the style and spirit of the era.
Dressed in vintage-period attire and performing on era-appropriate instruments—including clarinet, saxophone, cornet, ukulele, upright bass, trombone, drums, violin, piano, and guitar—the band recreates the look and sound of true 1920s jazz. The Texas Gypsies help ensure your Gatsby party both looks and sounds exactly like the era.
To enhance the experience, professional swing dancers are available to quickly teach guests basic swing steps as well as popular 1920s dances such as the Charleston, Foxtrot, Lindy Hop, and Peabody. The dancers also perform throughout the evening, adding visual excitement guests love to watch.
For hosts who prefer variety, The Texas Gypsies are versatile enough to incorporate additional styles beyond 1920s jazz, including dance favorites, classic rock, pop hits, Motown, and disco—with the option of adding a dynamic female vocalist. A DJ is also available to continue the music after the band performance for dancing and after-parties.
